03 · How I work

Two weeks, five stages, one person.

Every project goes through the same five steps. No secret process, no discovery sprints, no dressing up a small website as something bigger than it is.

  1. 01

    Day 1–2

    The brief

We have a 45-minute call. I take notes, then send them back to you as a short written brief. If it's not the right fit, we stop there and you don't owe me anything.

  2. 02

    Day 3–4

    The sitemap

Up to five pages, sketched on paper first and then written up as a shared doc. Every page has to earn its spot, or it gets cut.

  3. 03

    Day 5–8

    The design

I set the type, sort out the photos (yours or ones we license), and draw every page at three sizes — phone, tablet, laptop — before writing a line of code.

  4. 04

    Day 9–11

    The build

Hand-coded HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript. No template, no page builder, none of the bloat you don't need.

  5. 05

    Day 12–14

    Launch

Two rounds of tweaks on the live pages. I point the domain, set up analytics if you want them, skip them if you don't. Site goes live on day fourteen.

Four things I stick to

Small
on purpose.

It's just me.
You work with me from start to finish. No hand-offs, no account manager, no middleman.
One flat fee.
From £500. Half up front, half when the site goes live. No add-ons, no scope creep.
Two weeks.
Ten working days from signed brief to live site. If I miss the date, you pay half the second invoice.
Only what you need.
Five pages, one contact form. Want more? That's a separate project, quoted on its own.
